Availability modes
Quote can be created with either online or offline availability.
- Online availability will fetch the latest data from the internet.
- Offline availability is using the data that you have set up in the property admin dashboard.
For offline availability:
- Availability and prices are set by seasons (for example, low, mid, and high season).
- Prices are per day, so when a booking is crossing a season, the price will take the season change into account.
Quote language
Select the language of the quote at creation or edit time. You can edit languages in the property admin dashboard.
Templates
The template determines the layout of the quote.
Template channels
Each template defines rendering (that is, how the quote will look) for multiple channels; web, email, text (used for WhatsApp/SMS), and PDF.
Email vs Web
As email rendering can greatly vary between email clients, to increase correctness we have implemented different templates for email and web rendering.
The email template is following a simple structure that will aim to be compatible with most email clients (Outlook, Gmail, etc.).
The web template will soon be using interactive elements to make the quote more engaging.
Themes
Themes are colour variations that can be applied to a template. You can define your own themes in the property admin dashboard.
Room combinations
In certain cases, you may want to offer combination of rooms. For example:
- There is not a single room type availabile that fills the booking period, however a combination of room types does. This help both meet the guest’s needs, but also you fill more dates.
- You want to offer a custom option that is perhaps more affordable or meeting specific needs.
You can create room combinations by clicking the Edit button in the Rooms section.
- All dates in a given period need to be selected
- To only show the room combination, remember to filter out the other room types.
Room Copies
Consider this scenario: a family of 4 wants to book two rooms, one for the adults and one for the children. They may want to have the same room type, but with different bedding options and different prices. This can be achieved by creating a copy of the room.
To do this, open the room editor, go to the Copies section, and make the necessary number of copies. Save the changes and click update. The quote now contains the room copies, indicated by the sequence number in the room name.
The scenario above is also useful in cases where a booking engine does not offer split room options or there are no rooms available in its results. For example, searching for 2 rooms for 4 adults may give no results in the booking engine, but this feature in Hotel Quote you can accommodate your guest’s request.
Discounts
- Discounts can be applied to either individual rooms or to all at once.
- The discount field in the main page is a shortcut to apply the same discount to all rooms.
- To add discounts to individual rooms, click the Edit button in the Pricing section.
Sharing options
You can share quotes in the following ways:
- Content: Copy and paste the quote into your email or other documents. Soon this option will include channel-specific content.
- Link: Share a link to the quote.
- PDF: Download the quote as a PDF.
